Its a snail. Just a small snail. I saw it near a Tulsi Vrundavan at the temple. I know its just a small creature. But, within a few minutes time it taught me a lesson for lifetime. I tried clicking it from almost all angles but couldn’t get a good one. Finally I tried this angle and I got a picture perfect. I didn’t want to disturb it with the stupid flash, so I caught one with the natural light, the one that came from behind.
Initially, when I went close to it, it went inside. I thought I was disturbing it, so I stood there still. Soon, it popped its head out of its shell and started walking towards its destination. It could cover a very little distance, but still it didn’t stop. It had to cross a hundreds of hurdles but that too didn’t stop it from walking. It seemed as if it was telling me that no matter what, keep walking towards your destination.
With its slow pace, it then went away teaching me a small lesson for life…!!!
The Sun rises. It sets. Within this span of time, the nature teaches us a million things. From the very first morning dew to the dusk, there is almost everything that we learn from nature. May it be storm, rain, or slow breezes, the nature never misses a chance to share its experiences with us.
With the setting sun, I feel the silence around me. There is a slight storm that has changed the climate completely. I can see the sky changing its shades. The different shades of red. It seems as if it is showering its anger on us, on the Earth. Gradually, there is a drizzle. It is soothing the fairly heated area. The smell of the mud around is enough to melt your heart. A small temple right in the middle of the hill is so nicely visible. Thanks to the drizzle…!!
With the ending drizzle, everything calms down. The Earth cools down. The clear sky starts darkening, increasing the silence at a higher rate. The temple also disappears soon.
The place I describe here is very close to my heart. My hometown. Every small bird, every small shrub is so close to my heart that it seems as if they are talking to me. They are happy when I come here.
Everytime, I get to learn something new from them. This time also, I did. As the Earth needs a drizzle, so do we. All the anger, ego, jealousy can be easily erased out with only a small drizzle in our life. No matter what, there will always be a drizzle waiting out there for you..!!
The setting Sun, the moon peeping out of the clouds give me an indication of the ending day. Though I sit in the same area, with the same plants around me, I can feel the difference in the surroundings. The flying birds tell me that they are returning home and they are done for the day. I can hear a number of birds chirping around, finding their way home. People might wonder, “How can someone write about the same place everytime?”; but what makes the difference in this place is the time of the day. Though I sit amidst the same place, I get to learn new ways of exploring it with my companions around me. The best part of such places is that, you can just silently sit and observe stuff around you and the things present there are always pleasant and soothing. As I continue writing, my fellow friends (the red ants) find their way to my coffee mug. Everytime I’ve my coffee, they also want to. But anyway, I let them enjoy their coffee for a while. There’s a fight between a Kite and some crows. I think, the Kite is protecting its nest from these crows, who are more interested in ruining it. Whatever it may be, I hope no one is hurt. Its a complete entertainment for me. Wohaa !! Here comes a cute little Mongoose, stands right in front of me and gives me a “get-outta-here-its-our-place” look. With passing time, I can hardly see any birds in the vicinity. All I can hear is their chirps in the background. It seems as if they are telling me to go back to my room and set off for the day. I wish I could understand what they spoke!! No matter what time of the day it is, I can always find ways to explore it everytime I am lost in the charm of the place !!
I always wonder how excellent nature is in surprising us with every small thing embraced in its arms. Chirp of a bird, the dancing butterflies, the smiling flowers can
give us an enormously peaceful start of the day.
As I sit amidst an area entirely covered with greenery,
I see my friends running here and there completing their
daily chores. I want them to stop and have a look around this beauty, to feel the God in these small things.
A male cuckoo is trying to convince a female cuckoo about something. And there she goes ! Without listening to him, she just turns away. No matter what species you belong to, women are same everywhere. Insects can also be sometimes really amazing. They have this huge strength in them that keeps them going. A small ant climbing up the bark of a tree, searching for food so that when it gets back to his friends, he can yell.. “Yo friends, we’ve got a great meal out there..!!”
What amazes me more is how these little creatures actually communicate so well? When I was young, I used to wonder- eg: A woodpecker trying to make his actions into a tree trunk is stopped by a small Bulbul and questioned: “Why are you so interested in destroying our homes ?” To which the woodpecker just stops. Then, I really wanted to know how can they be so efficient in doing so. But as I grew up , I found out that there can be a Compromise everywhere!!
As the cool breeze flows , I can see the small shrubs standing right in front of me and smiling. It seems as if they are telling me how the sun is a boon to their lives! Its really astounding how can they be so refreshing at times even when they demand nothing but only water and sunlight!
They are so pleasant that even a bird finds its way into them as if it is singing and playing with them.
You can sometimes just sit and wonder, Would life be so much fun without these things around us?
It would be foolish on our part to be unaware of the God in these small things..!!
